Day 01 Sat 13/7 - Airasia X Flight Lcct to Kolkata

Today spend : Rs 1393

As usual my best friend Foo sent me from Subang Jaya and we reached the airport nearly 2pm . Check in was smooth without any problem,Chee was already at the boarding room. The flight took off 10 min late than schedule of 3.35pm and touched down in Kolkata at 5.10pm local time. India time zone is 2 hr 30 min behind Malaysia time. The Kolkata International Airport is just newly completed and barely in operation 3 months ago. The immigration and custom clearing were ok under rather unfriendly officers. After collecting our baggage, now is to find a transport big enough to carry our bike boxes plus a few panniers.I left this task to Chee while i stand guard to our trollies, as he has experience on his 2nd visit here. The best price he could bargain is for a van fit enough to get in all our stuffs for Rs1300 for a distance of around 20km. We wanted to stay around Howrah area as it is near the Railway station, but we were surpriced all the budget hotels were full,in no less than 7 hotels we enquired. Left with no choice, the taxi driver recommended at the new market which is located 3-4 km further.  After many left and right turns thru the busy street, finally we reached the Majestic International hotel but sharing the same entrance to a mosque, but at this late hour, thou unhappy , we took up a small room for Rs1100 just for a night. After the shower, i went for my dinner alone as Chee is not hungry. As this is my 1st time in India, feeling a bit of culture short, this place is just too crowded with people and the streets are really in bad shape. I better not to complain too much,or else i will not last till the end of my trip.
Thank you so much Mr Foo
