Today spend : Rs 450 Total : 12970
Leh at night is very cold but very very hot in the day,and the air here is extremely dry,all in all the living condition here is very tough for even the lowland Asian like us,not to mention the mat salleh, but surprisingly most of the tourists are from mat salleh, very few Asian.Besides the hard weather, getting used to the food here is another big challenge, so for those interested to plan a trip here, be prepared physically and mentally. There is no point to wake up early here,as you won't find anything in town, the shops and restaurants only open late at 10am, by noon only you can see the town becomes lively. We skid our breakfast to browse on line and only went out for lunch in a Tibetan restaurant recommended by Chee, very good indeed,a very big bowl of Veg,egg Thukpa ( noodles soup) for Rs 80 ,with a glass of jasmine milk tea add another Rs 20 for a total of Rs100. Then we went to a tour agent to inquire about the inner line permit for our ride tomorrow to Khardungla and Nubra Valley. The fee for the individual permit valid for 7 days is Rs400,but being Sunday,we can only get it on Monday, that means our plan of leaving tomorrow is out, which also means another night stay in Ree-Yul guesthouse.

Dear Meng, ur beautiful pics triggers my bitter sweet 2010 memory in Leh. Good luck with Khardung La. Wish u the best. Safe journey, bro.
anuar.
Anuar, thanks for the comment, did u cycle to Leh,any good advise?
Dear Meng, remember a sailor that added you in facebook? It is great that you back on cycling this time what I labelled it as daredevil ride! I am eager to read your post closely. Keep it up! The photos are just amazing! Last but not least do keep the Malaysian flag onto you bike at all time. Proud that Malaysia BOLEH!
Looks like luck was on your side when u found d 20" rim. That's why for a touring recumbent / small wheel bike, 20" is better than 18" or 16" as they're more common. Hope your new rim lasts til d end of d tour.
Pauline
Just hope the brakes work well with the steel wheel. All the best.
Yes,Andak i remember U. Thanks for following my blog.Too bad i lost my Jalor Gemilang while my bike was on top of the bus from Keylong to Leh. Could not find any Malaysian flag here, so instead i will be flying the Tibetan flag.
Yes,Pauline, luck was really on my side, and that safe me a few hundreds Rm. just pray that the rim will last.
Acid, ya just hope the rim and the brake will last, pray for me ok?
Meng, I will send you a few Malaysia flags if you give me the address... Very proud of what you are doing.
Thanks Ben, I am going home on the 9th Aug,after the toy rim twisted when fell from a bend
