Today's ride is not very long from Kullu to Manali,only 40 km but there is no downhill,and the ride is all the way up, very manageable and we gained height about 1000m. My previous cramps didn't act up again after a good rest and also taken the Arcoxia tablet,I was in top form and did not feel tired after reaching Manali,I even manage to ride up 4km of steep climb up to the touristic old Manali where all the backpackers hangout. But for Chee, he is surprisingly slow and not in his usual riding mood .When I arrived in the town of Patlikuhl, i waited for about half an hour and had my best lunch so far of mutton rice for very cheap price Rs 60.At one of the tea stall, i saw Chee having tea and join him to ride together. We are very close to this tourist town of Manali, along the way,there are many resorts and spa,English wine, Amusement park advertisement. Chee caught a cold somewhere when reaching Manali town and had to push up to the guest house in Old Manali which Chee had stayed before during his 1st visit. Very cheap Rs 200 with a nice garden view over the valley.We might need to stay 2 nights here before attempting another great challenge of Rohtang La.

Glad to know u've reached Manali in good form. Old Manali looks like any typical backpackers' town (horrors), hope it doesn't completely lose its charm. The weather looks gloomy, how is d air quality?

Damien,yes u can do it,u can easily go on the bus if u dun want to bike,even the bus is another great xperience.
Pauline, normally it rain a short spell in the early morning,and noon can be very hot,the air quality sure the best up in the mountain.
Vic loo, where did u get the info that i had done the KhadungLa? We r only in Manali.
Looking at all those photos makes my legs itchy to go touring!!!!
